An interesting story behind the sale of this mixed media piece this very day in 2014.
I remember how I was creating it in July that year: summer breeze, curtains flowing, me pouring encaustics. The map that resonated with my name, I was drawn to it. I tore it off and used it in my piece. The map read Cayuga Lake, is the longest of central New York's glacial Finger Lakes.
The wonderful people who bought the piece were the owners of Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast, a historic building circa 1833, that is in the proximity of Cornell University. Guessed where it is? That's right, next to Cayuga Lake.
Talk about Serendipity!
On a permanent display at a Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast since then.
